DIRECTTV Sports Double Play: A Primer

"You mean the television will play both games at the same time?" Do not get confused here. With DIRECTTV Sports Double Play, you will not have both games on your television at the same time. That depends on whether or not your TV has a PIP feature.

The DIRECTTV Sports Double Play feature comes with the newer DirecTV HD DVR models. With this function, the DVR will record both games at the same time, so even if you're not watching one game while the channel is on the other, the DVR will still be recording and backing up what happened in the other game, so you can switch back and check in on the other game, rewinding as you please to catch what you missed.

DIRECTTV Sports Double Play isn't just for sports fans, either. If you are just a fan of normal television, but you enjoy two shows that compete against each other, no longer will you have to go back and watch a DVR recorded version of one and watch the other. Instead, the enterprising viewer can watch both shows, using the new features of DIRECTTV Sports Double Play. It is quite the boon for even the casual television watcher.

Using this new feature is actually quite simple. First, you activate the feature by pressing Down on the remote, while watching the first channel of the two. Then, you press it once more to select a different channel you also want to watch. Once you have done that, you can use the down arrow again to swap between channels. Feel free to pause one game while you are not watching it; the DVR will keep track of where you were, so you will not miss a single minute of action.
