Via Directsattv.com - Get ready to see HGTV’s 2012 Rose Parade in a whole new way with DIRECTV’s broadcast of the parade in 3D. The two hour parade, also known as America’s New Year celebration, kicks off its 123rd Rose Parade on January 2 at 11 a.m. Eastern. The event will be hosted by Nancy O’Dell from Entertainment Tonight, Jamie Durie from HGTV’s The Outdoor Room, and TV producer Robb Weller. This year’s Grand Marshall will be J.R. Martinez, a former U.S. Army soldier and recent contestant on Dancing with the Stars.
Every float for the event is decorated and covered in flowers. No fake flowers or plants are allowed so all surfaces of the float structure must be covered in natural plant material. The floats are extravagant and beautiful, very intricately designed. Every float is different and they are amazing to see – the amount of hard work is obvious when you see the detail put into each float. With DIRECTV’s 3D coverage, you’ll see the parade from every angle.
Bring in the New Year with the Rose Parade and experience a “spectacular 3D broadcast,” according to HGTV. DIRECTV’s 3D broadcast will be available to those with 3D capability, but it will also be available in HD.
This year’s theme will be “Just Imagine…” and will feature tons of creative floats, including HGTV’s float which will be a replica of the HGTV 2012 Dream Home and will feature designers from Curb Appeal, Design on a Dime and Kitchen Cousins. See all the action and the amazing decorations on January 2 in stunning 3D quality!
