DIRECTV Programming- Old TV Shows Made New

While the miniseries is set in the Earth's past-- the 12th century, to be exact-- it is also the most reminiscent of the scores of epic-length miniseries that were once a staple of prime-time programming in the 1970s and 1980s. This is because there is always a collective history of television for producers to draw upon. Additionally, some people who watch television programming do want to see things that seem familiar.

So does this mean that the adage of "Everything old is new again" holds true, even in television? Maybe and maybe not, say culture analysts. They point out that many types of programs have been around for a long time, and that the reasons producers and audiences have for being compelled to watch as a diverse and varied as the DIRECTV programming lineups available to customers.
